How ExpatCircle News Works

ExpatCircle News is a vibrant newsboard for expats, permanent travelers, global entrepreneurs, and digital nomads. It’s a community for sharing news, tax opportunities, offshore strategies, international entrepreneurship, citizenship and residency stories, and international experiences. We also engage in discussions about politics and geostrategic developments to help plan effective backup strategies. ExpatCircle News relies on community participation to surface the most interesting content.

Submission Types

  • URL: Links to news articles, blog posts, projects, or any external content. This is the most common type and lets users share interesting web content.
  • Ask: Posts where users ask questions or seek advice from the community. These do not include external links but instead contain text prompting discussion.
  • Books: Posts sharing book recommendations, reviews, or discussions about books. Submission titelmust start with BOOK

How It Works

  • Voting: Users upvote submissions they find useful or insightful. The number of upvotes influences how prominently the post appears on the front page.
  • Comments: Each post can have comments where users discuss, debate, or add insights. Comments themselves can be upvoted to highlight the most valuable contributions.
  • Sorting: Posts are ranked based on their score (upvotes minus any downvotes) combined with their age. This ensures newer popular content gets visibility while older or less popular posts gradually fall down.
  • Karma: Users earn karma points from the upvotes on their posts and comments. Karma acts as a rough measure of reputation and contribution within the community.
  • Guidelines: ExpatCircle News encourages thoughtful, high-quality submissions and respectful discussion. Moderators and community voting help keep the platform focused and free from spam or low-effort content.
